Introduction:

UChicago Medicine plans to construct new multispecialty care center in Northwest Indiana.

Features:

The multispecialty care center is designed with an area covering 116,000-square-feet. The new care center features comprehensive cancer center, outpatient surgery center, micro hospital along with emergency department and short-stay inpatient unit. In addition, it also includes imaging center capable of offering MRI, CT, PET, X-ray and ultrasound facilities.

The new medical office building consists of experts in cancer, cardiology, digestive diseases, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, pediatrics, transplant medicine and women’s health.

Nearly 15 per cent of Northwest Indiana residents spend time traveling outside of the region to get the care they need. The opening of multispecialty care facility will make the lives of the patients more easier. The new construction is likely to bring 150 new jobs in both clinical and non-clinical roles.

The construction of the building will start in early 2022 and expected to start its operations in spring 2023.
