Introduction:
UF Health plans to open a new neighbourhood hospital to bring warm patient care.
Features:
The new hospital constructed over a 150,000-square-foot features 10 emergency department rooms, 10 inpatient rooms, a medical imaging centre, four surgical operating rooms and other features.
The three-story facility also includes an outpatient centre for lab drawings, the UF Health Rehab Clinic - Ocala, a pre-anaesthesia care centre, physician office space and room for future expansion.
The hospital's emergency department consists of seven emergency examination rooms and one triage and trauma control room. In addition to operating rooms, the surgery centre will have 12 pre- and post-operative beds. The imaging centre includes two general X-ray rooms, two computed tomography rooms, an ultrasound room and one magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) room. Physiotherapy and rehabilitation services, an anaesthesia pre-operative centre and doctors are located on the second and third floors.
The hospital is expected to be completed in spring 2024.
