Within the state-of-the-art, 80,000-square-foot healthcare center, the family birth center stands as a cornerstone, offering:

  • Private rooms designed for both labor and delivery, as well as post-delivery suites to ensure comfort and privacy for families.
  • Two exclusive operating rooms specifically designated for C-section procedures, ensuring swift and specialized care when needed.
  •  A Level II Special Care Nursery, equipped to provide comprehensive support for newborns requiring extra attention and care.
  • Accessible resources encompassing family planning services, lactation support, mental health assistance, and a range of other maternal care supports, ensuring holistic care for families throughout their journey

These investments aim to significantly broaden access to healthcare throughout the county, prioritizing the promotion, enhancement, and preservation of both physical and mental well-being for all residents of Prince George's County. Some of these enhancements and expansions include:   

  •  Construction of a cutting-edge public health center
  • A new crisis stabilization center designed to provide essential support for residents undergoing mental health crises, offering timely and specialized care
  • Exapnding the scope and capacity of mobile suicide and crisis response team
  • Provided a $20 million investment to open the County’s first behavioral health center: Luminis Behavioral Health Facility
