The McGrath Outpatient Pavilion, spanning six floors and covering 250,000 square feet, is set to accommodate a range of speciality clinical programmes featuring oncology, neurosurgery, urology, ear, nose, and throat, orthopaedics.
Additionally, the facility will house specific units and rooms dedicated to essential medical services, including outpatient surgery operating rooms, endoscopy procedure rooms, advanced imaging services, infusion services and radiation oncology.
By housing a range of speciality clinics and services under one roof, the McGrath Outpatient Pavilion aims to streamline access to specialised healthcare, addressing the burgeoning demand from patients seeking focused, high-quality medical attention across various disciplines.
The outpatient pavilion is designed to centralise a diverse array of speciality clinics and services, creating a one-stop destination for patients in need of focused and top-tier medical care across multiple disciplines.
The pavilion is dedicated to maintaining its provision of vital critical care services, which encompass a Level 1 trauma centre, regional burn centre, comprehensive stroke centre, and an emergency department catering to over 50,000 patient visits annually.
The McGrath Outpatient Pavilion is a key element of phase one in the $3+ billion UC San Diego Hillcrest Redevelopment Project, which also includes the opening of a new parking structure scheduled for spring 2024.
The Hillcrest Redevelopment Project spans the next 10-15 years, replacing the current hospital with a new state-of-the-art facility.
The overhaul of the 62-acre Hillcrest Medical Campus is a leap for UC San Diego Health. Revamping with modern facilities and improved infrastructure will rejuvenate the region's sole academic medical centre, fostering innovation and fresh medical practises.
