UT Health East Texas invests US$12 million to break ground on a new facility adjacent to the existing building located on South Tyler, USA.

UT Health East Texas constructs a two- storey, 20,000-square-foot facility, dedicated to housing a comprehensive suite of medical services.
This cutting-edge complex will serve as the primary location for orthopaedics and sports medicine, offer urgent care facilities, provide advanced diagnostic and imaging capabilities, and host outpatient rehabilitation services.
The first floor of the new building will house an extended-hours urgent care centre, equipped with advanced diagnostic and imaging facilities, and a comprehensive outpatient physical therapy department. The urgent care unit will specialise in orthopaedic services, focusing on treating sprains, strains, minor fractures, and common injuries.
Additionally, it will provide convenient walk-in care for minor illnesses and injuries, including conditions like fever, cold, flu, and minor lacerations that may require stitches.
On the second floor, UT Health East Texas will further expand its orthopaedics and sports medicine specialities.
The anticipated opening of this new facility is slated for 2024.
