Health Quest’s Vassar Brothers Medical Center to build $466 million inpatient pavilion

Introduction:

Health Quest’s flagship, Vassar Brothers Medical Center announced has announced a $466 million plan to build a new inpatient pavilion in the city of Poughkeepsie, New York.

Fetaures:

This seven-level inpatient pavilion is said to be build in an area of 696,000-square-foot with 264 private medical/surgical patient rooms and 30 critical care rooms.

Groundbreaking is scheduled for May 2016 and the first patient will be cared for in the building in January of 2019.

Plans for the state-of-the-art building include:

  • •    264 medical/surgical private rooms.
  • •    30 intensive-care unit rooms.
  • •    An emergency department with 66 treatment rooms and ample parking for ambulances and the public.
  • •    A loading dock with 12 bays for materials management.
  • •    A flexible conference center with three large rooms for use by the public and service groups.
  • •    Additional parking for the campus with 265 spaces.
  • •    A gift shop.
  • •    A 240-seat cafeteria with an outdoor veranda.
  • •    New operating rooms.
  • •    Green roofs.
  • •    A rooftop helipad.
