Abbott launches a novel TriClip™ Transcatheter Tricuspid Valve Repair System for the treatment of leaky tricuspid valve.
The first-of-its-kind minimally invasive device is the only clip-based tricuspid valve repair device available around the globe.
The tricuspid valve consists of three leaflets which controls the blood flow between the two chambers on the right side of the heart. Leaflets not closed properly may result in reverse blood flow named regurgitation leading to heart failure. TriClip procedure works in one’s life by repairing the tricuspid valve without the requirement of open-heart surgery.
There are limited treatment options for patients suffering with severe tricuspid regurgitation. Hence, TriClip repair system was developed to improve patient’s quality of life by ensuring safety & performance and durability of the device.
