Abbott Launches First-of-its-Kind AI-Powered Coronary Imaging Software in India
Abbott has introduced its Ultreon 1.0 Software, an artificial intelligence (AI)-driven vascular imaging platform, in India. The software combines optical coherence tomography (OCT) with AI to provide detailed insights into blood flow and blockages within coronary arteries.
It can automatically distinguish between calcified and non-calcified blockages, assess the severity of calcium deposits, and measure vessel diameter. The platform also supports precise stent placement, ensuring optimal expansion and positioning with real-time results.
Unlike traditional imaging methods such as angiography, OCT uses near-infrared light to capture high-definition images from inside the blood vessels, allowing physicians to visualise even complex anatomy.
Ultreon 1.0 streamlines workflow, helping clinicians make faster, more accurate decisions while reducing procedural uncertainty.
The platform also includes the MLD MAX workflow, which guides stenting decisions and provides recommendations to optimise stent placement. Data indicate that physicians adjusted their treatment strategy in the majority of coronary blockages when using OCT with this workflow.
With cardiovascular disease on the rise in India, Ultreon 1.0 Software equips physicians with advanced tools to improve patient outcomes by enhancing the precision of diagnosis and treatment.
