Fujifilm Launched New Image Processing Technology for Endosurgical Visualisation

FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc has launched new endosurgical image enhancement technology. This new technology enhances visualisation during therapeutic procedures.

While performing colorectal surgeries, anastomotic leaks are generally observed in gastrointestinal procedures which results in a serious and septic complication raising the mortality rate to 10%. Anastomotic leaks are seen in necrosis of ischemic tissue where the anastomosis is performed. Hence, with the launch of new image processing technology ischemic areas of tissue can be easily identified and help the physicians.

The new image processing technology improves the visuals in endosurgical procedures. Moreover, this technology will be an advancement to the ELUXEO Surgical System, the company’s in-market video imaging system which uses 4-LED multi-light technology to enable advanced visualisation modes including White Light Endoscopy, Linked Colour Imaging (LCI), and Blue Light Imaging (BLI). The imaging modes with advanced technology will improve visualisation, detection, and characterisation during surgical procedures.

U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted Breakthrough Device Designation for Endosurgical Image Enhancement Technology.
