Genesis MedTech Discovered Novel J-Valve™ Transfemoral System for Aortic Valvular Disease
Genesis MedTech has discovered novel J-Valve™ Transfemoral System. The introduction of J-Valve™ Transfemoral System marks a significant advancement in the treatment of patients with severe native aortic regurgitation (AR) and AR-dominant mixed aortic valve disease.
The J-Valve™ transcatheter aortic valve replacement procedure is a minimally invasive technique used to replace traditional open-heart surgery and extracorporeal circulation. This innovative approach involves using an anchor mechanism and a stent frame that expands to securely affix the J-Valve™ device to a malfunctioning valve.
The J-Valve™ TF System comprises the J-Valve™ TF Bioprosthesis and the J-Valve™ TF Delivery Device. The bioprosthesis is constructed from bovine pericardium leaflets, a nitinol stent frame that is encased in polyester fabric, and features a nitinol anchor ring.
By effectively restoring the natural flow of blood from the heart to the rest of the body, the J-Valve™ TF system holds the potential to reduce or enhance symptoms associated with heart failure like breathing trouble, chest pain and fatigue
Aortic regurgitation is a condition where the aortic valve fails to close properly, leading to the backflow of blood into the heart. This can ultimately result in heart failure and various symptoms like breathing difficulties, chest pain, and fatigue.
U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) grants breakthrough device designation for for J-Valve™ Transfemoral System.
