PinkDx Appoints Dr. Marra S. Francis as Chief Medical Officer

PinkDx, Inc., an innovative diagnostics company dedicated to improving women's health across their life stages, has announced the appointment of Marra S. Francis, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., as its new chief medical officer.

Dr. Francis, a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, brings over 20 years of experience in clinical practice and leadership across the diagnostics and biotech sectors. She currently serves on the faculty of the MIT Catalyst program. Prior to joining PinkDx, Dr. Francis was the chief medical officer at Genece Health, a molecular testing start-up specializing in early cancer detection, where she led clinical trial designs and study collaborations.

She has also held several leadership roles and served as a clinical advisor to diagnostic firms with tests in various stages of development and commercialization. Earlier in her career, Dr. Francis was vice chair and chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Memorial Hermann Hospital of the Woodlands in Texas.

Dr. Francis holds a medical degree from the University of Connecticut Health Center and a Bachelor of Arts in biology from Occidental College.

PinkDx is leveraging its RNA-based, multi-omic discovery platform to enhance diagnostic outcomes for women experiencing non-specific symptoms, such as bloating, pelvic pain, and abnormal bleeding, which could be indicative of gynecological cancers. Each year, an estimated 1.5 million women in the U.S. present with such symptoms, and over 100,000 are eventually diagnosed with gynecological cancers.

PinkDx aims to develop less invasive diagnostic solutions and reduce the delays women often face in obtaining critical diagnoses.
