Michael Cusack
BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company), a global leader in medical technology, has announced the appointment of Michael Cusack as the worldwide president of its Urology and Critical Care (UCC) business unit.
In his new role, Cusack will be responsible for overseeing the global strategy, operations, quality, and commercial performance of the UCC unit. He will report directly to Richard Byrd, executive vice president and president of the BD Interventional Segment.
Cusack joins BD UCC from BD Medication Management Solutions (MMS), where he served as the vice president and general manager of the MMS U.S. Region since October 2020. During his tenure, he played a key role in expanding the business, enhancing customer retention, and leading the commercial integration of four acquisitions: Parata Systems, Medbank, MedKeeper, and RapidRx. He has been with BD since 2016, having previously held roles as vice president and general manager for BD Diagnostic Solutions in the U.S. and vice president and general manager for BD’s surgical business.
In these positions, Cusack focused on product development and exploring mergers and acquisitions to strengthen the company’s market position. Before joining BD, Cusack spent over 15 years in leadership roles with Danaher’s Leica Biosystem and Abbott Laboratories, where he contributed to business growth and innovation in healthcare solutions.
Cusack, a U.S. Navy veteran of Operation Desert Storm, holds a bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University and an MBA from Loyola University Chicago.
