Gabriel Fernandez
Mars Wrigley has announced the appointment of Gabriel Fernandez as President, Global Emerging Markets (GEM). Fernandez will succeed Blas Maquivar, who transitions to the role of Global President, Health & Wellness, Mars Snacking.
Fernandez, who joined Mars in 2005, has held numerous leadership positions across Latin America, Europe, and North America. From 2016 to 2024, he served as General Manager of Mars Wrigley Mexico, where he oversaw key business transformations, including the integration of the Turin chocolate brand and the Wrigley portfolio, along with expanding Mars Wrigley’s presence in the Caribbean and Central America.
Under his leadership, female representation in the Latin American business grew from 10 percent to 40 percent, and the region saw over 50 percent financial growth.
In his new role, Fernandez will lead the GEM region, focusing on driving business growth and fostering a strong talent development pipeline. He will also champion inclusion and diversity efforts across the 140+ markets in the GEM cluster.
