Avalere Health is thrilled to announce Amar Urhekar as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Amar, who joined Avalere Health in 2023 as Chief Operations Officer (COO), steps into this leadership role after 18 months of significant contributions to the organization.
In his time as COO, Amar successfully unified Avalere’s diverse operations, integrating previously acquired companies to create a seamless, interdisciplinary healthcare ecosystem. His efforts have positioned Avalere as a uniquely capable partner, delivering innovative, scalable solutions across the biopharmaceutical landscape.
Amar Urhekar brings extensive global expertise to his new role, with a proven track record of driving transformation through mergers, acquisitions, and organizational reinvention. His career spans leadership roles across IPG, Ashfield Health, and Inizio Evoke, where he cultivated high-performing, purpose-driven teams and spearheaded impactful business growth initiatives across multiple countries.
Amar is deeply committed to advancing Avalere Health’s mission by fostering innovation, strengthening its global teams, and delivering solutions that address the most complex challenges in healthcare.
Amar succeeds Jon Koch, who has led Avalere Health for the past three and a half years. Jon will remain as a strategic advisor to the Board until March 2025, ensuring a smooth transition. Under Jon’s leadership, Avalere established a solid foundation that Amar will now build upon to drive the company into its next phase of growth and innovation.
This leadership transition marks an exciting new chapter for Avalere Health as it continues to deliver transformative solutions for biopharmaceutical clients and the patients they serve.
