Dr. Azita Hamedani

Bunkerhill Health, whose long-horizon AI agent helps health systems translate their goals into outcomes, has appointed Azita G. Hamedani, MD, MPH, MBA, as its first Chief Clinical Officer.

Dr. Hamedani brings the perspective of a health system operator into the company. She will lead Bunkerhill's clinical strategy and shape how its capabilities are adopted across clinical, operational and administrative work. 

Her appointment follows a period of rapid growth, with an expanding roster of health system partners, agentic AI reaching a widening set of clinical domains and $55 million raised to date, including a Series B led by Khosla Ventures announced in July 2026.

She most recently served as President and CEO of UNC Faculty Physicians and Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, and earlier founded the Department of Emergency Medicine at UW Health.
