Dr. David Herman
Dr. David Herman, CEO of Essentia Health, has been appointed the Chairperson of the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Hospital Association (MHA) for the year 2025.
Dr. Herman was selected by his peers to succeed Rachelle Schultz, President and CEO of Winona Health Services, in this prestigious one-year leadership position. As chair, Dr. Herman will help guide the MHA in its mission to support hospitals and health systems statewide through advocacy, innovation, and collaborative efforts that elevate the quality of care for all Minnesotans.
A native of International Falls, Dr. Herman has been a member of the MHA Board of Directors since 2015 and brings a wealth of healthcare leadership experience to the role. He joined Essentia Health the same year and has since been instrumental in advancing the organization’s strategic vision and commitment to community-based care.
In addition to his role at Essentia and with MHA, Dr. Herman serves on the Board of Trustees for Ronald McDonald House Charities and the American Academy of Ophthalmology, further reflecting his dedication to advancing health and wellness beyond his immediate leadership responsibilities.
Dr. Herman’s appointment underscores MHA’s continued commitment to uniting healthcare leaders who are passionate about shaping the future of healthcare in Minnesota.
