Expanding Innovations™ (EI), an emerging leader in expandable implant technology for spine surgery, has appointed Timothy J. Scannell to its Board of Directors.

The appointment strengthens EI’s leadership as the company advances its innovative spinal implant solutions and prepares for continued growth and market expansion.

Timothy J. Scannell brings more than 30 years of experience delivering strong operational and commercial results within the global medical technology industry. He spent the majority of his career at Stryker Corporation, one of the world’s leading medical technology companies, where he held several senior leadership roles of increasing responsibility. Most recently, Scannell served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Stryker from 2018 to 2021, overseeing all of the company’s commercial businesses and global regions. In this role, he was responsible for driving performance across a broad portfolio of medical technologies while supporting strategic execution worldwide.

Prior to becoming President and COO, Scannell served for a decade as Group President of Stryker’s MedSurg & Neurotechnology businesses. During this period, he played a key role in expanding product portfolios, strengthening global operations, and delivering sustained growth across highly competitive and regulated markets.

In addition to his operating experience, Scannell brings significant board-level expertise. He currently serves as a director and non-executive chairman of Insulet Corporation and is a director on the boards of Novocure Limited and Masimo. He also serves on the boards of several private medical technology companies, including Regenity Biosciences, Longevity Neuro Solutions, and CereVasc, Inc.

Scannell holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame. His appointment supports Expanding Innovations’ mission to advance spine surgery through differentiated, expandable implant technologies.
