Carenet Health, a leading provider of healthcare consumer engagement and clinical support solutions, has appointed Alan Poenitske as its new Chief Strategy Officer (CSO).
This key leadership move reinforces Carenet’s commitment to advancing value-based care (VBC) and driving innovation that enhances patient outcomes while reducing healthcare costs.
With nearly three decades of healthcare industry experience, Poenitske brings a deep understanding of VBC contracting and accountable care models. He has held influential roles at organizations such as Evernorth Health Services (a Cigna Company), Council Capital, and eviCore Healthcare, where he played a pivotal role in shaping strategies that align clinical excellence with financial sustainability. His track record includes leading initiatives in risk-based contracting, specialty care optimization, and care delivery transformation.
In his new role as CSO, Poenitske will work closely with Carenet’s executive leadership to shape and execute a forward-thinking VBC strategy. Leveraging Carenet’s advanced technology, data-driven insights, and patient-first engagement model, he will lead strategic efforts to accelerate product innovation, enhance healthcare consumerism, and deliver measurable value for Carenet’s more than 500 healthcare clients.
Poenitske is set to join Carenet’s leadership team at the 43rd Annual J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference in San Francisco next week, where he will contribute to discussions on the future of healthcare transformation.
