OrphaCare Appoints Andreas Goppelt as Managing Director to Drive Global Growth

OrphaCare, a global specialist in the development and commercialization of medical devices for drug delivery and part of the AOP Health Group, has appointed Andreas Goppelt as its new Managing Director. 

He succeeds Georg Fischer and will lead the company’s next phase of strategic growth while strengthening its role in supporting AOP Health’s integrated therapies approach and long-term expansion plans.

Goppelt brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across the medical technology, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical industries. Throughout his career, he has built a strong reputation for driving innovation, scaling global organizations, and delivering sustainable growth in highly regulated healthcare markets.

As Managing Director, Goppelt will focus on expanding OrphaCare’s global footprint through geographic growth, portfolio diversification, and the advancement of the company’s innovative product pipeline. He will also support targeted mergers and acquisitions to accelerate business expansion and enhance the company’s market position.

In addition to growth initiatives, Goppelt will prioritize digital transformation, operational excellence, and organizational agility. His leadership strategy includes fostering a high-performance culture centered on accountability, collaboration, and employee empowerment to strengthen OrphaCare’s long-term competitiveness.

Before joining OrphaCare, Goppelt held several senior executive positions, including Chief Technology Officer and Chief Executive Officer. Most recently, he served at Ottobock, where he led global research and development transformation initiatives and managed large-scale international operations. Earlier in his career, he co-founded SWITCH Biotech and held leadership roles at Baxter BioSurgery, contributing to innovation in life sciences and medical technologies.

Goppelt earned a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. His appointment reflects OrphaCare’s commitment to accelerating innovation, expanding its global presence, and strengthening its leadership in advanced drug delivery solutions.
