Autonomix Medical Appoints Sandra Cohen Kalter to Board

Autonomix Medical, Inc, a medical device company focused on precision nerve-targeted treatments, has appointed Sandra Cohen Kalter, former Vice President and Chief Regulatory Counsel of Medtronic plc, to its Board of Directors.

Kalter brings more than four decades of experience in the medical device and healthcare industries, including 20 years in senior regulatory and legal leadership roles at Medtronic. During her tenure, she advised business units on FDA strategy, clinical and legal regulatory matters, quality systems, product development, and commercialization.

She also oversaw due diligence and integration activities associated with more than 27 acquisitions, including technologies that contributed to Medtronic’s expansion in renal denervation, electrophysiology, and other areas of medical technology.

Kalter’s experience spans several major Medtronic technologies, including the Symplicity Spyral Renal Denervation system, Evolut TAVR platform, Micra Transcatheter Pacing System, and PulseSelect Pulsed Field Ablation system. She also built and managed an in-house FDA legal team supporting Medtronic’s business units and regulatory strategies for innovative medical technologies.

In her new role, Kalter will provide strategic guidance to Autonomix’s Board and management team as the company advances its proprietary technologies and evaluates opportunities to expand its platform into additional therapeutic applications. Her background is also expected to support discussions with potential industry partners and other stakeholders.

Before joining Medtronic, Kalter spent 13 years as FDA/Healthcare Counsel at King & Spalding LLP, advising clients on complex FDA regulatory matters, regulatory filings, and FDA advisory panel proceedings. She holds a Juris Doctor from The George Washington University National Law Center and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University.
