Queensland Government Grants US$460 million for the Expansion of Logan Hospital

Introduction:

Queensland Government has granted US$460 million for the expansion of major Logan hospital.

Features:

The expansion consists of two projects including hospital expansion and the maternity upgrade, worth US$460 million supporting more than 1000 jobs during construction.

The new hospital includes an additional 206 beds and treatment spaces as well as upgraded services across the hospital. Since the Logan community is growing rapidly, Queensland Government plans to expand its healthcare infrastructure to meet the healthcare demands.

The new hospital features six additional maternity inpatient beds, five extra birthing suites, and an expanded special care nursery. In addition, the project also focuses on expanding existing clinical and support areas including the emergency department, mental health, intensive care, endoscopy and coronary care units.

This expansion would open the doors for many individuals who are looking for job opportunities such as tradies and subcontractors, and healthcare workers in the near future.

Maternity upgradation designed with modern facilities will enable families to get best possible care available to them, close to home.

The construction of the maternity upgrade will start in September 2020 and the major hospital construction to beginin summer 2021.
