AI Medical Service medical startup specializing in the advancement of diagnostic endoscopic AI, entered into a joint research agreement with Mahidol University in Thailand to commence collaborative research activities. The joint research marked the first collaboration between a Japanese endoscopic AI company and Mahidol, a prominent Thai institution.
The collaboration aims to evaluate AIM's endoscopic AI technology. AIM recently received approval from Japan's Minister of Health for an AI-equipped endoscopic imaging diagnosis support system, allowing for the detection of lesion candidates during endoscopic examinations. Sales commenced in March 2024 in Japan, with regulatory approval in Singapore in February 2024.
With ambitions to expand globally, AIM seeks to assess the adaptability of its technology in Thailand's clinical settings through collaboration with Mahidol, renowned for its comprehensive education and research programs.
Expressed excitement about addressing gastric cancer detection and treatment challenges in Asia through collaboration with Mahidol. Assistant Professor at Mahidol University's Siriraj Hospital, shared optimism about AIM's technology enhancing early diagnosis and treatment of upper gastrointestinal malignancies in Thailand.
The collaboration is expected to contribute to improving healthcare standards and patient outcomes in Thailand and beyond.
