TrachFlush, developed by AW Technologies, is currently undergoing the medical device registration process in Japan, with plans for market introduction in fiscal 2024.
This innovative device, conceived by an intensivist, aims to ease the discomfort experienced by ventilated patients while simultaneously reducing the workload of healthcare professionals during tracheal suctioning. Through a simple button press, TrachFlush deflates the cuff, utilizes ventilator air pressure during an inspiratory cycle, and then reinstates cuff inflation before the cycle's completion.
Leveraging their expertise in blood purification, both companies anticipate that this collaboration will provide multifaceted benefits, including improved patient quality of life and decreased healthcare worker burden. This partnership holds significant importance for AW Technologies, with Asahi Kasei Medical positioned to play a vital role in the global expansion of TrachFlush.
