The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Cambridge Medical and Rehabilitation Centre and NMC Provita International Medical Centre with the aim of facilitating the transfer of long-term patients to the two centres for treatment and rehabilitation. The first MoU was signed by Dr Younis Kazim, CEO of the Dubai Healthcare Cooperation at the DHA and Mr Fernando Parker, Director of Operations at NMC Provita International Medical Centre. The second MoU was signed by Dr Kazim and Dr Howard S. Podolsky, Group CEO of Cambridge Medical Rehabilitation Centre. The MoU aims forfuture cooperation between the two parties regarding the transfer of long-term patients to follow-up their treatment and rehabilitation according to their health history, and clinical requirements. Commenting on the MoU, Dr Kazim said that the DHA looks forward to collaborating with both centres with the aim of providing quality treatment and rehabilitation care for long-term patients. He emphasised the importance of the MoUs as they would greatly contribute to reducing the burden on hospitals by transferring long term patients to centres that are specialised in the field and provide quality treatment that are on par with international standards, hence freeing beds at DHA hospitals to cater to acute patients. Dr Kazim emphasized that both centres were chosen after meeting international criteria and after careful evaluation to ensure that patients are receiving the best level of care possible. Dr Kazim added that the DHA constantly strives to strengthen its relations with international health facilities to promote investment and exchange experiences in line with the authority’s strategy. Both parties expressed their keenness to collaborate with the authority to provide patients with quality healthcare services.
