Thursday, April 25, 2024

TVM Capital Healthcare, a specialized healthcare private equity firm headquartered in Dubai and Singapore, has announced a significant investment of US$17 million into neurocare group AG (neurocare), based in Munich.

Neurocare is well-known for its innovative approach to personalized mental healthcare, empowering clinicians to deliver optimal care to their patients. This investment from TVM Capital Healthcare will facilitate neurocare's international expansion plans, particularly in the US and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, while also fostering the development of new hardware and software innovations. Notably, this marks TVM Capital Healthcare's ninth investment aimed at enhancing local healthcare access in the MENA region.

Neurocare's digital therapy platform (DTP) offers comprehensive, patient-centric treatment for various psychological and neurological conditions.Through a range of innovative methods and tools, including sleep assessment, therapeutics, psychotherapy, TMS, and neurofeedback, all integrated within a cloud-based solution, neurocare empowers clinicians to provide tailored care.

By assessing each patient's condition thoroughly, neurocare assists clinicians in devising individualized therapy plans aimed at achieving robust, sustainable clinical outcomes. Neurocare's solutions are utilized not only in its own clinics across the US, Europe, and Australia but also in an increasing number of third-party clinics worldwide.

Globally, mental disorders affect 13.0% of the population, leading to substantial direct and indirect costs, expected to rise from $2.5 trillion in 2010 to $6 trillion by 2030, according to the WHO. The COVID-19 pandemic has further exacerbated mental health challenges, with the number of diagnosed cases doubling. Despite this, mental health treatment remains significantly inadequate in many countries, underscoring the growth potential for companies like neurocare, offering innovative, non-invasive treatments with superior clinical outcomes.

This investment aligns with our strategy of backing highly innovative healthcare solutions that enhance access to quality care worldwide. A key focus of ours is to bolster healthcare infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and the broader MENA region. With many mental health clinics in this area relying on traditional therapy methods, companies like neurocare have a unique opportunity to pioneer innovative treatments with superior outcomes. We're excited to introduce this offering to the people of the MENA region and collaborate with neurocare's management team to realize this objective."
