SynerMed, the leading healthcare platform for government-sponsored healthcare programs, announced today that Employee Health Systems Medical Group, Inc. entered into a definitive agreement to acquire MultiCultural Medical Group, Inc.

MultiCultural Medical Group is an independent practice association with more than 370 providers serving 25,000 patients throughout Chula Vista, National City, La Mesa, El Cajon, City Heights, Mira Mesa and Poway, California. MultiCultural Medical Group was founded in 1993 by Rodney Hood, M.D. and Richard Butcher, M.D.

The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2017.
