Mountain View Medical Group to Join DaVita HealthCare Partners

Monday, April 11, 2016

DaVita HealthCare Partners (DVA), a leading independent medical group in America and leading global provider of kidney care services, today announced the company's intent to acquire Mountain View Medical Group, a leading independent physician group in Colorado Springs. Under the proposal, Mountain View Medical Group would join the company's HealthCare Partners division. Financial terms were not disclosed.

"Mountain View Medical Group has a history of high clinical performance and a strong reputation in the Pikes Peak region of Colorado," said Joe Mello, chief operating officer of DaVita's HealthCare Partners division. "The prospect of welcoming their group to DaVita HealthCare Partners is very exciting, and we look forward to potentially partnering with them as we expand our medical group's presence in the Colorado market."

Mountain View Medical Group is the second largest independent physician group in Colorado Springs with 50 physicians providing services including family medicine, internal medicine, neurology, OB-GYN, pediatrics and podiatry. The group operates 14 medical office locations caring for more than 80,000 patients.

"Our mission is to enhance the health and lives of our patients and their families and be the provider of choice for the Pikes Peak Region," said Dr. Amy Owen, Mountain View Medical Group's board president. "As independent physician groups working together, we believe we will be able to provide the highest level of quality care to our patients and their families."

The transaction is expected to close in July 2016, subject to negotiation of a final definitive agreement with Mountain View Medical Group, their shareholders' approval of the transaction, regulatory approvals, completion of due diligence and other customary closing conditions.
