Introduction:
Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) announced to build new speciality care and urgent care centre at Abington, PA.
Features:
The expansion includes 50 primary care offices, Speciality care and surgical centres, and urgent care centres.
An urgent care centre provides after-hours care for children with mild to moderate, non-life-threatening illnesses or injuries that do not require any source of the emergency room.
The new hospital centre's 20 to 30 exam rooms, as well as ancillary facilities including developmental physical therapy and occupational gym therapy, audiology, speech therapy, radiology and EEG services.
The new building adds initial outpatient services like cardiology, gastroenterology and nutrition, orthopaedics, ENT, neurology, endocrinology, diabetes, and pulmonology.
The expansion of the project will add 37,000 square feet to the hospital in addition to the 10,000 square feet reserve for future clinical programmes.
The expansion is expected to be commenced in summer 2020 and be operational by 2021.
