Introduction:
Dignity Health Dominican Hospital announced US$360 million in renovation and expansion.
Features:
The expansion adds 84,000 square feet to the existing hospital which include the construction of a three-level parking garage with 410 parking spaces.
After the commencement of the expansion, the garage will be finished in 18 months as the priority.
The pavilion project converts all semi-private patient rooms to private rooms.
The expansion includes a complete surgery department with larger operating rooms to accommodate more advanced procedures for the technology of the future. Patient care will not be affected by construction.
The new structures will be energy efficient, with LED lighting for energy savings and landscaping will be comprised of drought-resistant and native plants. The planning team is also exploring the installation of solar power.
The majority of the expansion will be funded by Dignity Health, and a portion of US$30 million expected be raised through a community campaign led by the Dominican Hospital Foundation.
The expansion is expected to start later this year.
