Introduction:
The leaders at Nebraska Medicine and the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) announced plans for the construction of a new, state-of-the-art facility.
The medical facility would be located on the northwest corner of the current medical center campus.
Features:
The project which is in an early phase could consist of several new buildings near the intersection of Saddle Creek Road and Farnam Street.
The buildings in the complex could include one or more new towers for research and inpatient care, expanded clinical trials, and new educational technologies which would consolidate care in one location and replace older facilities.
The facility would turn out to become a magnet for medical tourists.
The project is scheduled to be operational over the next decade.
