Exactech Launches Novel Surgical Navigation for Total Ankle Replacement

Exactech has received 510(k) clearance for the ExactechGPS® Ankle, as the world’s inaugural surgical navigation system crafted specifically for total ankle arthroplasty (TAA).

The GPS Ankle is a first-of-its-kind technology, that seamlessly integrates preoperative plans with real-time intraoperative instrument guidance, ensuring precise alignment with the surgical blueprint.

Utilising proprietary active tracker technology and a compact sterile field touchscreen tablet, the system offers surgeons continuous dynamic feedback during their procedures.

The GPS Ankle seamlessly integrates with the flagship Vantage® total ankle system and will be accessible to hospitals and ASC centres without upfront capital costs. Pre-clinical studies, conducted through bench testing, have reported an impressive accuracy of 2mm and 2 degrees relative to the CT-based surgical plan.
