New RI.HIP NAVIGATION Technology Introduced for Total Hip Arthroplasty

Smith+Nephew introduced new RI.HIP NAVIGATION technology for Total Hip Arthroplasty (THA).

The RI.HIP NAVIGATION designed with new technology enables surgeons to keep the control of individual patient pelvic tilt, leg length and offset measurement. In addition, it also helps surgeons in assisting with cup placement by giving a predicted view of the post-op AP X-ray in surgery.

The RI.HIP NAVIGATION consisting of new technology helps to maximise accuracy and reproducibility by delivering patient-specific component alignment an important factor for surgeons when evaluating individual total hip arthroplasty cases. It helps both the hospitals and Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs).

When compared with other traditional techniques, Brainlab navigation in total hip arthroplasty has shown to reduce outliers in cup placement and achieve more consistent leg length restoration, delivering more reproducible results.

US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved RI.HIP NAVIGATION for total hip arthroplasty.
